CONFERENCES
There are an excellent selection of regular annual travel health conferences you can attend, often virtually or in-person (and sometimes with free food, or at least a free pen!!). There are also lots of other events that pop up throughout the year too. I try to go to THEM ALL, I LOVE THEM!!!
Save the date for the RCPSG conferences. The next one is on 9th October 2025 in Glasgow (and virtual if you prefer) and it's always AWESOME!!!!! See details HERE.
The fabulous BGTHA conference is usually around November time (virtual) - always a great event. And usually a half day over the weekend - handy if you are pushed for time (or money) but still want something awesome to attend. It's very reasonably priced. Non-members cost is £35 and includes one-year BGTHA membership. With that, you would also get access to the journal, Travelwise.
Look out for the Joint RCN and NaTHNaC conferences each year. They are VERY good! Book for the next virtual conference on 22nd March 2025!
Valneva travel health events (usually FREE events. On occasion some free wine has been involved too. Register your interest to receive email updates on scheduled events)
Alys's conference TOP TIP!* If you can't attend on the day don't rule it out immediately. I've found that a lot of conferences these days tend to be recorded, especially if virtual (although not all of course). So, it's still worth signing up and watching on demand if you can't make it.
*Always just check first that this IS INDEED an option before booking!
JOURNALS AND NEWSLETTERS
There are some fabulous journals to subscribe to out there. And they are NOT BORING!!! Fancy reading about James Bond's travel health risks as an international spy? You got it. This is the field to be in!
Travel medicine and Infectious Disease (TMAID) journal - why not subscribe? (And THIS, incidentally, is where you will find James Bond's travel health risk assessment!)
Subscribe to Vaccine Update for general monthly-ish vaccine-based news.
